We Care For Our Community

Bald Blair Angus is proud to be involved in the and Guyra and Armidale community.

Sam loves his angus cattle and was very proud to be able to contribute to the future of the breed in his role as a Director of the Board of the Angus Society of Australia, from May 2016 until 2022.

Sam and Kirsty attended the online Red Meat Ambassadors program in 2022. This is an excellent program for our industry. Sam is a former Treasurer and now assistant Treasurer for the Guyra Show Society. Our family for many years sponsored a prize in the cattle section of the Guyra Show each year. We co-contributed to a new cattle shed at the Guyra Show Grounds, in honour of Sam’s father Richard White, to help an expanding show.

Kirsty assisted for the first time as a Lego Steward at the 2023 show.

Bald Blair Angus supports the Bald Blair Public School P &C each year by making a donation for their assistance with catering for the annual on property bull sale. It is always a great way for the school parents to catch up with each other and locals while raising funds for the bush school across the road.

Bald Blair Angus supports the UNE GRASS (Growing Regional and Agricultural Students in Science) program and hosts the Industry Placement Scholarship each year.

Bald Blair Angus sponsored the Premier Beef Fest held in Armidale with 160 junior judges and 135 junior paraders.

Bald Blair Angus regularly sponsors the Angus Youth Roundup.

Sam White recently received a Service Recognition Award from the NSW Department of Primary Industries for over 10 years service to the community as a Trustee of the Bald Blair Recreation Reserve Trust. The Trust overseas the sporting grounds at Bald Blair which are used by the Guyra Polocrosse Club. Sunday morning practices are a great opportunity for the kids to give their horses a bit of exercise.

Sam is a former player and coach of the Guyra Ghosts Rugby Union team and Bald Blair Angus in the past provided sponsorship to the club each year to assist with the rugby season.

Kirsty is involved in the Northern Tablelands Local Land Services Ladies in Livestock group. LiL consists of over 60 local female farmers that meet monthly on farms to discuss and learn technical skills, industry updates, share ideas and information. It is a tremendous group that has great momentum and traction for women on the land to improve their skills and connection with each other.

Kirsty is also a lifetime member of THE Rural Woman THE Rural Woman is an innovation driven, creativity inspired, resilience building, productive, proactive, supportive eco-system of rural women from around the world, connecting, learning and discovering together on the topics that matters to us!
