The Boundary Rider's Report September 2026

The Boundary Rider’s Report September 2026

Welcome to the September edition of the Bald Blair Angus Boundary Rider’s Report.  The season continues to be challenging for us here in Guyra.   We are confinement feeding our stud cows, the maiden heifers at Bald Blair and supplementary feeding our heifers on other properties to ensure they are ready for breeding.

We are starting to see signs of natural heat and we are monitoring their progress closely with the use of Optiweigh to ensure our feeding regime is meeting their nutritional requirements.  We are about to start our stud Artificial Breeding program and have our dates locked in, the sires are selected and the team is booked in.

We’ve yard weaned our autumn stud calves over a week-long process of working them through the yards, providing them with all their treatments and introducing them to bikes, buggies, horses and dogs.  They have now settled into their new paddock.

Our small flock of crossbred ewes have just started lambing.

We have bulls for sale, semen for sale and heifers for sale.  Heifers will be offered this Friday on AuctionsPlus —
