The Boundary Rider's Report August 2022

Thank you for taking the time to check out our latest Boundary Rider’s Report.

We are extremely grateful for your support at this year's sale, so once again thankyou. All bulls are now delivered to their new homes. All bulls are hopefully settling in well. With the approaching breeding season keep the bulls well in the lead upto joining, then observe regularly throughout joining.

The 2023 bull sale team have been through the yards to get their Vibriovax, Pestiguard, 7in1, Nitromec and Arrest Easy Dose. We are assessing them to ensure that the next generation of bulls meet all our requirements to continue in the team for future sales.

We received a dusting of snow overnight and woke up to a white wonderland. This will be probably our last solar blast (BOM words not mine) before spring. All stock will receive an extra ration of hay today. It is extremely wet and we are constantly getting bogged in all vehicles. The horses have been shod and we will be needing to use them more to move stock around without getting bogged.

The autumn drop stud calves are being weaned in the yards this week and the commercial autumn calves will be weaned next week.

Taylor McDonald has added an extra outer yard to our main yards, which is very handy for weaning. He has also renewed the fencing of our small holding paddocks opposite the yards and they look fantastic, not to mention they will be extremely useful holding paddocks.

Calving continues and we are happy with how the heifers are going. Still 3weeks to go. We have ordered our semen for the 2022 Spring Joining season and will start synchronizing heifers in the first week in October.

We have prepared a survey that we would really appreciate you taking the time to complete.
